3C is a collaborative initiative between lenders, developers, and community navigators that aims to give Chicagoans a smoother path to homeownership in two West Side communities: East Garfield Park and Humboldt Park.

Homebuyer Education is the best place to start your journey. In this comprehensive course, you will learn about the homebuying process from start to finish. Led by HUD Certified Housing Counselors, Homebuyer Education will set you up for success by providing excellent reference guides and toolkits, the chance to hear from real estate experts, and live question-and-answer time. Courses are currently offered in-person and virtually by Spanish Coalition for Housing and NHS.
The 3C loan program offers low interest rates, down payment assistance, closing cost assistance and does not require private mortgage insurance. Your HUD certified Housing Counselor will help you apply for this program.
This is where you receive a personalized homeownership plan! HUD-Certified Counselors develop a strategy to help you achieve your homeownership goals and prepare you financially. Your HUD-Certified Counselor can also answer any and all questions you may have. Both Spanish Coalition for Housing and NHS have virtual and in-person appointments available.
